Neurodiversity Awareness Session 2: An introduction to the concept of neurodiversity and ADHD. Facilitated by Dr Sarah Hopp and Ross Thomas.

This is the second workshop in the Neurodiversity Awareness five-part programme.

This session will focus on an introduction to the concept of neurodiversity and ADHD, and will be faciliatated by our colleagues in the Student Health and Wellbeing Team; Dr Sarah Hopp and Ross Thomas.

This programme aims to improve the working relationships between tutors/lecturers and their neurodivergent students by raising awareness of the complexities of some of the most common neurological differences, dispelling stereotypes. Each session is facilitated and delivered by a person who is neurologically different, who has studied at university level and who is now working in a profession. The facilitators will narrate their life experiences, how they think and perceive life and provide practical tips on helpful strategies when working with students. There will also be an opportunity for Q and A at the end of the session.
