Eikon and Morningstar: advanced financial databases

This training session will cover how to find financial information in the databases Eikon and Morningstar.

Eikon is a comprehensive financial database with news, analytics and financial content on all asset classes, as well as private companies.

Morningstar is an investment analysis platform with data on investments in indexes, equities, hedge funds, segregated accounts, open-end funds, closed-end funds, insurance/pension/life and exchange-traded funds.

Because these databases can only be accessed on-site at specific computers, the training session will take place in the Financial Resources Suite at Northampton Square.

During this workshop students will undertake activities that will cover:

  • What sort of information can be found in these databases
  • How to access and login to them
  • How to search for information and use the interface
  • How to find help if you get stuck.

The format of the session is the world cafe. Students will spend half of the session on Eikon and the other half on Morningstar.

Please note, spaces are limited, so it is essential to reserve a place.
