In this workshop we shall be examining the techniques involved and options available when searching databases to perform an effective literature search for your PhD dissertation/research paper.

The workshop will cover:

-General techniques for searching databases

-Demonstrations of the various database searching options

  • Basic searching
  • Advanced searching
  • Using the Search History function
  • Controlled vocabulary/Subject Heading searching
  • Limiting/Refining searches
